The honest starting point
CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin are two different peptides that both act on the growth hormone axis, the chain that runs from the brain to the pituitary gland to your body’s own growth hormone. One thing to get straight up front. The research is on each compound by itself. There is no published study on this blend as a combined formula, and we come back to that in the limits section.

What researchers have studied
CJC-1295
Healthy-adult dose trials (Teichman, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2006). Randomized, placebo-controlled, dose-ranging trials in healthy adults. After injection, researchers observed growth hormone rise by roughly 2 to 10 times and IGF-1 by about 1.5 to 3 times, lasting several days. PMID 16352683. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16352683/
Pulse pattern preserved (Ionescu and Frohman, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2006). In healthy adults, researchers found that even as the compound raised baseline growth hormone, the natural pulse rhythm of GH release stayed intact. The pulses got taller, not erased. Animal model (Alba, American Journal of Physiology, 2006). A study in mice bred to make no GHRH of their own. Once-daily CJC-1295 brought their growth back toward normal, which showed the compound could stand in for the missing GHRH signal in that model. Ipamorelin
First characterization (Raun, European Journal of Endocrinology, 1998). The study that introduced ipamorelin. In cells and animals, researchers reported that this five-amino-acid peptide triggered growth hormone release without raising ACTH or cortisol beyond normal levels, even at doses far above the GH-releasing dose. Human pharmacokinetics (Gobburu, Pharmaceutical Research, 1999). A small study in healthy adult volunteers. Researchers gave ipamorelin at rising doses and tracked both the peptide and growth hormone in the blood, observing a single short pulse of GH release and a short half-life. Postoperative ileus trial (Beck, International Journal of Colorectal Disease, 2014). A randomized, placebo-controlled proof-of-concept trial in bowel-surgery patients, testing whether ipamorelin sped up the return of bowel function. Researchers found no statistically significant difference from placebo on the main measure. An honest negative result, and we include it because it is part of the record. How it works
Both compounds ask the same gland to release your body’s own growth hormone, but they push different buttons.
CJC-1295 is a modified fragment of GHRH, the signal the brain normally sends to the pituitary. It copies that signal and tells the gland to release GH. Because it works at the gland this way, researchers class it as a GHRH analog rather than growth hormone itself.
Ipamorelin works on a different switch. It binds the ghrelin receptor, another trigger for the pituitary’s natural GH pulses. Researchers call it “selective” because in the early animal work it nudged growth hormone without stirring up the stress hormones that some related peptides also raise.
Researchers sometimes study a GHRH-type compound and a ghrelin-receptor-type compound side by side because they act on separate receptors. That is the reason the two often end up in the same conversation. It is worth being clear that no study here tested this specific pair together, so combining them in one vial is a research convenience, not a proven-superior mechanism.
What the research does not establish
- There are no studies on this combined blend. Every finding above is on one compound at a time. No published research tested CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin together as a single formula, so the idea that pairing them adds up to more is not something the literature shows.
- The human studies were small, short, and mostly older. Long-term human data is thin for both compounds, and one larger human ipamorelin trial did not beat placebo on its main goal.
- The published human CJC-1295 trials used the version called CJC-1295 “with DAC.” Data on the “without DAC” version (sometimes called mod GRF 1-29) is far more limited, so do not assume the two act the same way.
- These studies measured hormone levels, mainly growth hormone and IGF-1. They did not establish muscle growth, fat loss, strength, or any body-composition result in humans. Those popular claims are not backed by the human literature.
- There is no approved human use for either compound. Neither is an FDA-approved drug.
- Each finding describes a research model. It does not tell you what would happen in a person, and nothing here is a claim that this blend is safe to use.
The gap between the marketing and the actual literature is wide here. The honest limits are the point.
